ride needed for Warwick party
Dec. 29th, 2005 03:30 pmHey, this is going out to all those who are coming down to the party in Warwick- I need a way to Warwick if possible.
Marnen's going to be at a gamelan music event in Middletown, CT Friday night and not planning on coming all the way back to Poughkeepsie if he can help it (which makes sense, since it is a long drive and the klenengan will probably go until all hours of the morning).
Since we're headed to New Haven, CT on Sunday, and it would be a bit costly to take two cars to New Haven and back to Poughkeepsie, we're trying to arrange things so that I'm meeting him Sunday morning (in fact arrangements are already in the works to get me from Warwick to Marnen's location on Sunday).
So, I just need to get to Warwick either Friday night or Saturday during the day. I can either take the train down to meet someone at a convenient location, or take the bus up to Kingston to meet someone coming from up north (the bus station in Kingston is practially on top of the Thruway exit).
updated to add I get out of work about 3:30 pm, then would have to head home to drop off my car and get clothes/gifts together, so I'd be ready about 5-5:30 pm to grab the train or bus or whatever
another update argghhh... if people want us to use public transportation, then give us transportation to where we need to go!
In order for me to take a bus from Poughkeepsie to New Paltz I'd have have to take the bus to Kingston, then down to New Paltz; a 2 hr trip for 35 miles.
It looks like county busses don't go across the river, and the one bus company that on the local SUNY campuses websites lists as providing service between Poughkeepsie and New Paltz doesn't anymore (and the local # for that bus line belongs to another company now).
