Car: Not so much with that working thing

I went to the store and to home.
I went to the Unitarian Fellowship Hall for a belated Lughnassah ritual.

My car is still in the UF Hall's parking lot because now, it even doesn't try to turn over. Battery isn't dead because all the lights go on normally.

I'm going to go back tomorrow with Marnen and see if we can jump it- or otherwise call a tow truck and bring it right back to the garage.

A nice woman from the group gave me a ride home.

Does it tick when you turn the key?

I don't think it was

I think it might be the starter. If it was ticking, you could bang on it and knock it loose enough to get it started, but if it's not even ticking, it might be entirely dead, in which case jumping it won't help. It wouldn't be the alternator, because you still have lights.

I wish I didn't know all this stuff from personal experience... says the girl who used to carry a hammer to use on her starter.

sounds like starter or alternator ... but I'm no car guy.

what ticks me off the most is that it was at the garage and they didn't find any problems- it started every time for them.

These things just go, they either work or they don't.

I'll concur with everyone else. I used to carry a big stick in my car for such occassions. Luckily it's not that an expensive job as it could be. Good luck with it
