Oh boy- Gov Spitzer got himself in very hot water

Not that I think that prostitution is a bad thing- I'm for legalizing it and regulating it with medical testing. However, since he was in an area where it wasn't legal and in a marital relationship where it seems that sort of thing isn't allowed (or if it is, it's kept quite secret), then the man shouldn't have been fooling around like that.

And since he was a DA then State Attorney General (who had been involved in the prosecution of a couple of prostitution rings himself!) he should have been a lot smarter (because he should have known that there was a chance of getting caught).

This goes into my often stated opinion that it is not *what* he did, but *that he did it*.
I don't care if he fucked a prostitute...I care that he was stupid. He knows what the laws are (however irrational they may be), and he knows what kind of scrutiny he is under. He was careless and stupid, and I don't like people like that in positions of authority.

I could not agree with you more. Careless and stupid does not a good leader make.

I can't believe he didn't think he'd get caught, especially in light of the hubbub he attempted to muckrake Bruno over a couple of months ago.

I doubt a $4300.00 prostitute evening is worth the shitstorm he and his family are about to endure. Sigh...

What annoys me most about the situation was that he was completely hypocrtical in his actions. He was instrumental in prosecuting prostitution rings. Don't patronize something you're going to heavily campaign against.
