can my body just go away?

collwenI'm home today.
In short, Gastritis and my period hit within 12 hours of each other.
My stomach hurts and it's hard to get comfortable...
I had a gastritis attack last night. It started while I was on the train home from Albany. I got to the Poughkeepsie station trying to hold off the queasiness in my stomach. Marnen was on the phone (to find out he was talking to someone about being a trumpet player for his production of Pirates that goes up this weekend). I did not feel up to walking the 3-4ish blocks home, in a light rain, so I took a cab. Thankfully I had gotten home before I started throwing up and getting a bout of the runs.
Before this gastritis thing, I hadn't thrown up (fully, there's been times of feeling the gorge rising up but being able to hold it back) since I was a kid. Even when I got so plastered at Nix's shot-glass checkers party that the wall couldn't hold me up I didn't get sick.
Now it's been twice in just over 10 months. I hate this.
I had taken a pepcid on the train, and took maalox when I got home. I took another pepcid this morning.
I'm taking in water a few sips at a time, but have consistently ended up in the bathroom with the runs 20 or so minutes later.
Which also means I didn't get a hell of a lot of sleep.
Then this morning, just before Marnen left for work, I noticed that there was red in the toilet, and sure enough, if I wasn't going to be de-hydrated enough, my period had just started (I had been prepped for this for over the weekend, but it hadn't hit yet)
Kill me, kill me now...
