Someone actually sent us the pictures... and here's one of me earlier on. I ended my shift sitting in the corner without the fake guts doing the scared broken victim, just rocking and crying. When I was doing that I ended up getting the comment that that I should be on Broadway, cause I was really freaking him out.

Here's the picture of me from the event, but it looked a lot scarier in the dark with just the strobe light and fog machine going.

After some transportation trouble (like my wallet falling out of my purse in Marnen's car and having to walk over a mile and into the Bronx to get to the college that he had a rehearsal at to get it, then taking the bus to get to the subway- instead of just taking the Metro North from Yonkers like orginally planned)... I went and saw MirrorMask down at the Sunshine theater on E. Houston..

Oh my goddess, it's an incredible movie. I am *so* buying it when it comes out on DVD.

I then had dinner in Chinatown at this little (and cheap) Vietnamese place on Mulberry... hmmmm chicken with scallions and ginger (and the ginger was in long julliened strips...). Then I stopped off where Marnen was playing his contra gig (on the corner of 7th and W. 13th) and touched base then got dressed (as a gothy cheerleader, with red and black leather floggers as my pom-poms) for the Cruxshadows concert.

After waiting forever outside of the club (I got there about 45 minutes before the doors were supposed to open, then they were a half hour-ish late in opening them. I got a chance to speak to the other people there around me. We were also outside of a homeless women's shelter, and a lot came out for smoke breaks and kept asking why were there and dressed up like we were.

The concert was cool. I actually got a chance to hear ego likeness, and they're pretty good. The club has multiple rooms and levels, but the actual performance area was really slow. Marnen got there in time to see the Cruxshadows start. I think it was the same set list as Albany, with a little mixed up (the final encore was Marylin, My Bitterness). I got pulled up on stage again, and ended up with a few hugs from Rogue after the concert (like getting off the stage, when he was passing by, and when I got the dvd box signed). I got a the DVD box that they came out iwth (Shadowbox). I'm listening to the audio disk that comes with it now

Pictures to follow.

I got home this morning (after crashing with a couple of SCAdians in the E. 15th street/Styuvesant Park area- one of the fencers was having a birthday party and they had an extra crash space, something that had been worked out as a possiblity after fencing practice on Wednesday).

Now I'm trying to stay awake a little longer so I don't end up falling asleep and waking up at 4 am and not being able to go back to sleep.

Ok... one of the guys here did Ratchet from the Transformers.... up to and including having a small wheeled body to take off his costume and put it into while he's on the phone and have it be the transformed ambulance.

one friend and her co-worker did a Snow White and the Wicked Queen in witch guise... with "may cause drowsiness" lables on the apples in his basket

[livejournal.com profile] marnen wasn't in, but his team did a diner theme, with one of the guys dressed up as the Burger King.

One lady did this nice half regular girl half dead girl makeup and outfit.

That looks about it for people who dressed up...

update Make that Jazz instead of Ratchet.... I saw the sides and the license plate...

in fact, I have pictures of making the head...

I had picked up a styrofoam head from a wig store and painted it (in fact I have a bunch of pictures at home of the painting while it was in progress and the finished product). I also made a french hood - ish headpiece with a hair cover that I also beaded.

I made a net bag to go over my head with a red ribbon to tie it to my neck.

Now here's the cheating part... I'm wearing my green court garb (with a chemise and minus the ruff, because ruffs would be too late period). Although I have found that the bodice that [livejournal.com profile] alphawench lent me has helped- as a temp corset.

With Her Head Tucked Underneath Her Arm
R.P.Weston and Bert Lee, 1934
(I have 2 versions... one sung by Stanley Halloway with the original lyrics and the Kingston Trio version that drops the headcold verse and has alternate names in the foodball verse, which I have in parentheses.)

In the Tower of London, large as life,
The ghost of Ann Boleyn walks, they declare.
Poor Ann Boleyn was once King Henry's wife -
Until he made the Headsman bob her hair!
Ah yes! he did her wrong long years ago,
And she comes up at night to tell him so.

With her head tucked underneath her arm
She walks the Bloody Tower!
With her head tucked underneath her arm
At the Midnight hour -

She comes to haunt King Henry, she means giving him 'what for',
Gad Zooks, she's going to tell him off for having spilt her gore.
And just in case the Headsman wants to give her an encore
She has her head tucked underneath her arm!

With her head tucked underneath her arm
She walks the Bloody Tower!
With her head tucked underneath her arm
At the Midnight hour.

Along the draughty corridors for miles and miles she goes,
She often catches cold, poor thing, it's cold there when it blows,
And it's awfully awkward for the Queen to have to blow her nose
With her head tucked underneath her arm!

Sometimes gay King Henry gives a spread
For all his pals and gals - a ghostly crew.
The headsman carves the joint and cuts the bread,
Then in comes Ann Boleyn to 'queer' the 'do';
She holds her head up with a wild war whoop,
And Henry cries 'Don't drop it in the soup!'

With her head tucked underneath her arm
She walks the Bloody Tower!
With her head tucked underneath her arm
At the Midnight hour.

The sentries think that it's a football that she carries in,
And when they've had a few they shout 'Is Ars'nal (Army) going to win?'
They think it's Alec James (Red Grange), instead of poor old Ann Boleyn
With her head tucked underneath her arm!

With her head tucked underneath her arm
She walks the Bloody Tower!
With her head tucked underneath her arm
At the Midnight hour.

One night she caught King Henry, he was in the Canteen Bar.
Said he 'Are you Jane Seymour, Ann Boleyn or Cath'rine Parr?
For how the sweet san fairy ann do I know who you are
With your head tucked underneath your arm!'

but with no luck. I went to the Goodwill in Wappingers Falls, which is *HUGE*, spent over a hour there....

and ended up not picking up one single thing for a costume, and ended no closer to figuring out what I want to do...

Ok, I'd been mostly paying attention and following the flex plan. But I didn't expect anything big...
but I lost 3.4... and I've hit over the 60lb mark!

*happy dance*

After Weigh In I went over to Burlington Coat Factory to see if I could find something for a Halloween costume (because I know I don't want a throw away costume). No luck. I then went to the Galleria and got my hair trimmed. Boy, did I need it- just to take the dead ends off I lost about 3 inches, and even though my hair is getting longer it's not that long! I also took a look at Torrid and Hot Topic for costume ideas... and not much caught my attention (at least not for Halloween). Some of the corset type tops caught my eye, but I'm not sure I want to plunk down the $ on something I'm not going to be able to wear (since I'm not that good at alterations... then again, if I did them more I'd get better...).

So... anyone have an idea of what I should dress up as? I already know what I'm doing for work, but since it involves garb it's not my "real" costume. (I still need to get the foam head so I can do Anne Boylen, and get a copy of the song "With Her Head Tucked Underneath Her Arm..."). My "real" costume I'll be wearing to the Cruxshadows concert in NYC, but I'd like it to be something that I can wear parts of at work.

Usually I know what I'm going to do and I have basically no bloody clue...
