Supreme Court Justice David Souter's home targeted by Eminent Domain petition

The amusing thing is that the Souter was one of the 5 that ruled in favor of eminent domain (the ruling passed 5-4 last June).

Basically, a bunch of activists have gotten together and submitted a petition to take the judge's home under eminent domain and turn it into an inn, which would give the town more tax revenue and economic development than it would as the judge's house.

Sadly it won't pass. And it's right down the road from us too...
I like the name of the proposed resturant there - "Just Desserts Cafe" or something similar if I am not mistaken. (Yeah I could click the linky, but I'm tired)

Yeah, probably won't pass because it would take a lot of convincing to get enough people together to make it pass.

But heck, the fact that it could even get this far (as to go onto a ballot), is pretty cool.
