Today, they paid for breakfast! Wow... IBM actually let the department have some money, and they ordered breakfast from one of the local delis and picked up baked goods from BJs.

Tomorrow is "Thanks for 'Stickin' with us" with some sort of "surprise" and Friday is "'Cool' it down with something cold" and another surprise.

There's also a cube decorating contest, a Guess the Call Volume contest for Monday (which my desk can't do since the email got sent to us *yesterday*), a Guess the Candy Corn in the Jar contest, and a Crossword Puzzle contest.

I'll hit the dollar store tonight for the decorating contest. It's a "Fiesta" theme... so I'm looking for stuff that's garish and "Mexican/Spanish" looking.

I don't suppose there's anyplace nearby that would have Dia del Muerte themed decorations for your cube, right?

Oh... maybe. Will have to look for that... because it would tie in with Hallween.

The only thing is... it looks like my desk is going to do a theme of an Insane Asylym for costumes.

Although, I could prolly dig the whole Mexican theme thing.

Can we please refrain from using garish and Mexican/Spanish in the same sentence? It's kinda insulting. No, I'm not Mexican but I am Spanish. The only reason why people assimulate the two is because Americans have made it this way. Both cultures are very beautiful in decorations and traditions. Although, sometimes they are bright...

Though I do think the idea of El Dia de Muerta is way cool!

Sorry about that... I should clarify. When doing a decorating contest here, whatever the season/reason, it's the garish/over the top display that wins. I wish something more tasteful could get noticed.

Then again, I actually didn't find all that much. I've got a tortilla warmer, a margarita glass, and a nice rustic clay looking vase with a sun molded in it.
