Ok... so I've been bouncing around about the Cruxshadows concert, and the book Ghost. And I've joined a discussion list and a forum for Cruxshadows...

and of course I mentioned the book.

I just got an email from the author. He's cool with the fact that [livejournal.com profile] chickipu_no_oni and I got the books in advance. And he's right now getting ready to go to the CXS concert in Nashville tonight.

Oh, PSA about Ghost. It's a bit graphic in terms of sex and violence, and kinked in terms of sex.

Yep, John Ringo is a good writer. If you haven't been there yet go to BAEN.com, John has a forum on their web-board.

I've not really gotten to be a Barfly, but I do know of it.

My favorites from Baen are Eric Flint, David Weber, Mike Williamson, and John... (and there's more but then the list just gets too long...)

The only thing of John Ringo's that I've read has been Gust Front. I liked it. Need to get my hands on the rest of the Posleen series...

Well worth reading, also his Prince Roger books (March to ----, and We Few)

Oh hell, yes you do. Both The Council Wars series and the March Upcountry series are really cool...

I would like to get them in order, if possible.... When reading Gust Front, I got the distinct feeling that there were other books, both before and after, even though there was nothing to *tell* me that those books existed.

You can also go to http://www.webscription.net and get electronic copies of the books for cheaper than paper.

Gust Front was the 2nd in the series. It should have been listed in the front of your book. The first is called Hymn Before Battle. Check out www.baen.com and you can look up books by name, author, and series.

All good writers, Baen has for my tastes about the best collection of authors right now.

Yeah - John rocks...

I wish I had known him better when we were in the Army. He got out only a few months after I arrived at our unit.

I really enjoyed the Posleen series - the names he used was like reading a 1/508 & 3/505 battalion roster.

I have.
The Posleen Series was kick-ass.
There Will Be Dragons was excellent, and the sequels show promise.
The March to the Stars series didn't hold my attention too well. I think it was the David Weber influence. I like Weber's fantasy stuff, but his MilSciFi stuff lacks something in my eyes.
Sadly I wait for things to come out in paperback, so some of his stuff has passed me by because it never went into p'back.

John was supposedly working on a collaboration with Daniel Keys Moran - who wrote what I consider to be the "one true ring" of novels, "The Last Dancer." Not heard anything more on it...

So are you going to share what the list and the forum are? Kinda interested, myself, for obvious reasons...
